Megastar Chiranjeevi often boasts about his judgemental skills during media interactions. Many a time in the past, Chiru openly admitted how he involved in the making of his films by giving valuable inputs to his directors. During the pre-release event of Bholaa Shankar, Chiru backed the concept of doing straight remakes and defended his decision to bring the Telugu version of Ajith’s Vedhalam. But, the disastrous box office result of Bholaa Shankar seems to have taught a big lesson to Chiru.

Just two days after the film’s release, Chiru knew where it was heading at the box office. He was completely shocked because he didn’t expect such a huge backlash from his fans and regular movie audience. He made a thorough introspection of his choice of script selection and also his obsession with the remake formula. He has reportedly analysed the reasons behind the colossal flop of the Meher Ramesh directional.

As per reliable sources, Chiru has finally taken a firm stand to not work on remakes anymore. He came to know that the idea backfired only because remakes are no longer a viable commercial formula in South India. As Telugu Cinema is marching towards new heights in terms of its making and approach, Chiru has decided to ditch the remake formula and come up with different attempts from now onwards.

This is why his next project under the production of his daughter is temporarily on hold. Director Kalyana Krishna of Banggaraju fame was supposed to direct Chiru in the official remake of Bro Daddy. But, he has now asked the director to come up with a new script. Meanwhile, his 157th film was finalised. Mallidi Vasistha of Bimbisara fame will direct this fantasy thriller.
