The founder of Lok Satta Party, Jayaprakash Narayana has expressed his heart out regarding the BRS Government. Talking about the extended Metro project, the ex-MLA spoke about cutting corners in the investments.
JP Narayana, the so-called intellectual, often expresses his views on the governments of the two Telugu States. The ex Legislator welcomed the idea of BRS in expanding the Hyderabad Metro way beyond the city limits but found fault with the construction of the Metro around the Outer Ring Road, where there would be fewer passengers comparatively. Narayana claimed that already the Hyderabad Metro is running with annual losses of about 1,500 crores every year and expanding it without considering the returns would be a wasted effort altogether. JP however suggested the BRS Government consider integrating MMTS and Metro together so that the passengers would reduce their walking distance to their destinations. He also stated that the metro can be expanded to the regions where there would be more passengers but there is no need to construct a new line around the OTT.
Narayana brought in the example of the Kaleshwaram Project which was constructed with tons of money by the TRS Government as it is only incurring losses. The expenses done on lifting the water are more than the profits the project is actually fetching and warned the KCR the same thing would happen with the Metro as well if not taken proper care.
