‘Adipurush’ set for a bigger opening than RRR and Pathaan

Mythological extravaganza ‘Adipurush’ is undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited big-ticket film of the season. Trade circles across the country are anticipating that the Prabhas starrer will end the dull season on a promising note as there are massive expectations in all territories. Adipurush is the only biggie of the season which is expected to take a stupendous opening in Hindi and Telugu alike. In fact, after SS Rajamouli’s RRR last year, Adipurush is likely to have a similar opening at the box office in both these languages.

The advance sales of Adipurush opened a couple of days ago and the bookings are quite impressive in the Hindi belt. As per the latest trend of bookings in multiplexes and National chains, Adipurush is set to surpass the openings of RRR in Hindi quite comfortably. RRR netted 20.5 Crores on its first day. Going by the trend, Adipurush will clock close to 30 Crores net on opening day with the Hindi version. It is also going to open better than Shah Rukh Khan’s recent blockbuster Pathaan at all India level as the Telugu version openings will be quite humongous given the fact that Prabhas has strong following in his home turf. The bookings in Telugu States will commence based on the permissions received for ticket hikes from the respective state authorities concerned.

The pre-sales in overseas are also quite encouraging for Adipurush despite its limited release due to heavy competition from Hollywood biggies. Unfortunately, the IMAX version of the film has been called off in major locations. Despite these setbacks, the Om Raut directional is expected to rake in more than $ 1M from its premieres in North America.

As per the expectations of trade analysts, Adipurush is going to punch out more than 100 Crores gross on its opening day worldwide. The mythological theme coupled with the impressive publicity campaign has resulted in strong buzz for Adipurush. There are good chances for the film to emulate several records if it manages to garner positive word of mouth on June 16th.
