South popular actor Mammootty’s mother Fathima Ismail passed away at a private hospital in Kochi, Kerala. According to the sources, the 93-year-old has been suffering from age-related issues for the past few years and breathed her last in the early hours of Friday.
Many celebrities from political and film fraternities who heard the saddening news paid their tributes to the actor’s mother and offered their condolences on social media.
Shashi Tharoor, the Indian politician, and diplomat who is a close friend of the Mallu actor took to his Twitter handle and shared the sad news. Sharing the same, Shashi Tharoor penned a heartwarming note saying- ‘Spoke to @mammukka this morning to express my sincere condolences on the passing of his mother. As I have grown older I have become much closer to my own mother, & I am aware of the preciousness of this irreplaceable bond. May he find the peace of mind to cope w/his loss.’
As per the latest reports, the funeral will be held at Mammootty’s native in Chempu, Kottayam at 3 pm on April 21.
On the work front, Mammootty has a few projects lined up in his kitty. His upcoming next with Akhil Akkineni in Agent is all set for the grand theatrical release on April 28.
