Suriya’s Kanguva – An Epic in the Offing

Tamil superstar Suriya’s 42nd film has been creating ripples all over ever since it was launched last year because of its ambitious and grand first-look glimpse that presented the lead protagonist as a warrior. Director Sirutai Siva is making this big-budget entertainer on a lavish scale with top-notch production values backed by Studio Green and UV Creations.

The makers of this pan-India project unveiled a spectacular glimpse this Sunday morning to reveal ‘Kanguva’ as title in all ten languages. Playing out at just over a minute, the title glimpse is quite spectacular as it once again reaffirms that Suriya is going to be seen as a doughty warrior leading an army of followers who are battle-ready to embark on a breathtaking showdown in a period setting. DSP’s thumping background score elevates the proceedings further as the title is revealed.

The motion poster shows Suriya in a masked get-up, armed heavily while riding a horse on the top of a mountain against a lightning backdrop. He is assisted by a menacing eagle that hovers around and a trusted hound who seems to be a part of his journey throughout. The eye-catching visuals with extravagant set-up hint that another epic period drama is in the making from South cinema. Technically, it is going to be a solid one with the likes of Devi Sri Prasad, Vetripalani Swamy and Milan on board.

Bollywood diva Disha Patani is the film’s leading lady. Kanguva will release simultaneously in all languages in the first quarter of 2024.
