The general secretary of TDP, Nara Lokesh has reached Narasapur in the Anantapur district and interacted with locals as a part of his ongoing Yuva Galam Padayatra. On this note, the young leader has promised to complete all irrigation projects once TDP assumes power in 2024.
Lokesh spent ample time in the constituency of Singanamala where different sections of people shared their pleas with the TDP scion. The region’s main problem is the unavailability of sufficient water which is affecting the yield of groundnut crops and the same was addressed by local farmers. Lokesh responded quickly by stating that his TDP government spent more than 11,000 crores of rupees only on irrigation projects in AP including their Handi-Neeva project canal that distributes Krishna water. He said that another 15kms would be increased so that many villages would get water for irrigation. As 90% of work was already completed during CBN’s regime, another 10% would be done when TDP gets back into power.
Lokesh also met people from different communities such as Vishwa Brahmins, Boyas, and Valmikis only to reassure them all of their issues shall be sorted. He reiterated that Boyas and Valmikis would be inducted into the ST plan and reservation, which YSRCP returned on its promise. The ex-IT Minister left them in hope by declaring that he would fulfill all the promises he had given during the Padayatra.
