Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas has landed in trouble for calling Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR a Tamil film. The Barfi actress caught the audience’s attention when she corrected RRR as a Tamil film during an interview.
Going into the details, recently Priyanka Chopra gave an interview with the podcast channel Armchair Expert, when the interviewer Dax Shepard called RRR a Bollywood film, the Baywatch actress quickly corrected him by saying RRR is a Tamil film.
This statement made the netizens angry as they are not expecting this from the actress. As we know that Priya Chopra supported RRR in a big way and even attended the RRR special screening in LA along with the filmmaker SS Rajamouli and composer MM Keeravani.
Before Priyanka Chopra, the popular American TV personnel Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted the 95th Academy Awards also called RRR a Bollywood film on the Oscar stage. This also irked a controversy on social media that led to a debate on whether RRR is a Telugu film, Tamil film, South film, or Indian film.
It is known that RRR directed by Rajamouli is initially shot and released in Telugu and dubbed in other languages including Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The film stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles while Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani and others have appeared in key roles.
