The energetic number ‘Oo Antava’ from Pushpa remains special forever to Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s fans as it is the first item song performed by the Telugu actress in a film.
When the makers of Pushpa made an announcement about the south diva’s special song in Pushpa: The Rise, both Allu fans and Sam fans were elated to see the sizzling chemistry between the duo on the big screens. It went on to become a superhit as the entire country groove to the catchy steps of Oo Antava. With much attention, the song also received hatred from the netizens as it was released during Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s separation.
In a recent interview, the Majili actress shared some interesting details about her separation, this song and much more while promoting her upcoming film Shaakuntalam. Speaking about the same, Samantha stated -‘When I was offered ‘O Antava’, it was in the middle of the separation (from Naga Chaitanya). After the announcement came, every well-wisher and every family member of mine was like ‘You will sit at home, you will not do an item song just when you have announced the separation’. Even my friends, who always supported me suggested, ‘Do not do an item song’. But I was like, ‘Ok, I am doing it.’
As we know Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s separation which was announced by the duo in 2021 created havoc on social media. Many netizens blamed the Ye Maaye Chesave actress for choosing her career over her marriage of four years. But Samantha who took a stand against all the odds came out much stronger after the divorce.
