Young Tollywood actor Kiran Abbavaram is coming up with another entertainer in the form of ‘Meter’, a cop drama helmed by debutant Ramesh Kaduri. The theatrical trailer of this film is out this Wednesday evening and it hints that Meter is going to be a regular commercial drama sans any novelty.
The two-minute trailer of Meter has nothing great and new to offer in terms of its making and story, but it manages to draw attention because of the entertaining elements. Kiran Abbavaram dons a Khakhi avatar for the first time in his career and he tries his best to display the over-the-top mannerisms that are expected from an onscreen cop in Telugu movies. He exhibits an irreverent and devil-may-care attitude while dealing with his adversaries in his style of histrionics. His lively performance is going to be the USP for the film.
The trailer starts with the introduction of the protagonist as a dynamic and humourous cop. A couple of romantic conversations between Kiran and Athulyaa Ravi then lead us to the real drama which unfolds as the trailer moves forward. The trailer is packed with plenty of mass-laden dialogues and fight scenes in which Kiran appears energetic and confident. Going by trailer, Meter appears to be another ‘Been there Seen that’ cop drama laced with a good dose of commercial elements aimed at the masses.
The rich production values by Mythri Movie Makers make the visuals in the trailer appealing. Director Ramesh Kaduri did a decent job to keep the entertainment factor intact while designing a routine cop character. The music by Sai Kartheek is appropriate for the story and the cinematography by Venkat C Dileep is fine and adequate.
Meter is set to unspool in theatres on April 7th.
