As we know that Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 2023 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Studios in Los Angeles on March 12. While hosting the award show, Jimmy Kimmel invited the team of RRR on the Oscar stage. Later speaking about Rajamouli’s magnum opus, he called RRR a Bollywood film.
This statement created a stir on social media as the Telugu audience got angry at Jimmy Kimmel’s words. They lashed out at the popular TV host for tagging RRR as a Bollywood film when it is a Telugu-language Indian film.
Apart from Jimmy Kimmel, Telugu fans also threw many angry tantrums at the Academy Awards for not paying attention to the details of the oscar-winning film.
For the unversed, Rajamouli’s blockbuster film RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles has bagged the oscar in the Original Song Category for the popular number Naatu Naatu.
The oscar event was attended by the lead team of RRR including Rajamouli, Rama Rajamouli, Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, MM Keeravani, MM Srivalli, SS Karthikeya, Pooja Prasad, and others.
The lead singers of Naatu Naatu including Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava also performed live on the oscar stage while Lauren Gottlieb and the team danced to the energetic beat.
