The town of Gannavaram has been under huge pressure as the two camps of YSRCP and TDP has been crossing swords at each other. After a deep investigation from the sources close to the region, the reasons behind these riots surfaced now.
Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi is known for his change in loyalty from TDP to YSRCP. He has won solely because of huge support from the TDP cadre and the fact that the party has been a stronghold in Gannavaram for ages. Also, the community factor helped Vamsi hugely resulting in his win. However, things turned ugly as Vamsi ditched TDP and joined the ruling party YSRCP. Not stopping there, Vamsi has been making constant derogatory comments about TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and his party leaders. Vexed with Vamsi’s behavior, the local TDP leaders and supporters have decided to dethrone Vamsi by fielding the TDP Spokesperson Pattabhi as the official MLA candidate opposite Vamsi for the 2024 elections. This news irked Vamsi to the core and the local leaders of both parties started verbal abuse.
Vamsi who is miffed with Pattabhi’s competition and also the huge support the latter would get from the cadre of TDP in the town, sensing his defeat, the sitting MLA has sent his men to destroy the party office and vehicles of the leaders. To everyone’s surprise, Pattabhi, the victim in this whole issue has been arrested and speculated to be tortured by the Police whereas the culprits walk free.
