Indians frustrated with BAFTA not caring about RRR

The 76th edition of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards ceremony was organized in the Royal Festival Hall in the city of London, England on the evening of Sunday. Despite its royalness, the BAFTA has deeply hurt many movie lovers of India regarding its dismissal of the Indian Film Industry’s newfound pride ‘RRR’.

This British Academy failed to acknowledge the movie RRR in any category despite the movie’s fantabulous fame across the Globe. RRR had already won many awards and rewards in different categories including the prestigious Golden Globe for the song ‘Natu Natu’. Not stopping there, the same score ‘Natu Natu’ got nominated for the Oscars in the category of ‘Best Original Score’. Movie stalwarts like James Cameron and Steven Speilberg praised the movie and the director Rajamouli’s making on and off camera. At this juncture, when the entire world and movie industries are hailing the flick for its spectacular entertainment, BAFTA intentionally ignoring it irked the Indians to the core. They have seen expressing their disgust and hatred on the BAFTA and its jury for their intentional dismissal.

Meanwhile, the movie experts opine that the Britons being portrayed as the villains in the movie RRR must have ruffled BAFTA’s feathers and that resulted in their ignorance.‘’All that Breathes’ directed by Shaunak Sen is the only Indian documentary that got nominated to India. The German movie ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’ swept all the awards in seven categories.
