Noted Tamil hero Dhanush for the first time in his career has done a bilingual with the film SIR which was released in Tamil as Vaathi. The film has received mixed responses from the critics but the word of mouth and the collections prove otherwise. SIR/Vaathi became the highest opener for Dhanush.
As per the official numbers, the film has collected Rs. 51 Crores gross over the weekend. This was considering both versions and it is the highest opener for Dhanush ever. SIR has already crossed the breakeven mark in the Telugu States, much to the joy of Dhanush fans in Tamil Nadu and in the Telugu States as well.
Directed by Venky Atluri, SIR/Vaathi is an emotional journey of a private teacher who takes on the educational mafia. Sithara Entertainments has produced this movie while the music is provided by GV Prakash Kumar. Samyuktha was paired with Dhanush.
