ED arrests a YSRCP MP’s son in liquor scam

The sensational case of the Delhi liquor scam again came into the limelight for the last three days as the central agency of the Enforcement Department has made some arrests which include the kin of a YSRCP MP.

India witnessed one of its largest scams last year regarding the liquor policy and many bigwigs from parties like AAP, BRS, and YSRCP were arrested and questioned in this case. Also known as the ‘Delhi Liquor Scam’, the ED after a detailed inquiry again made some progress and arrested two men Gautam Malhotra and Rajesh Joshi on Wednesday. On Thursday, ED shocked everyone by arresting Raghav Magunta, the son of YSRCP MP Magunta Srinivas, and took him into custody.  This is the third arrest in three consecutive days regarding the arrested people’s links with the scam in one way or the other.

ED is likely to produce Magunta Raghav before the Court in the capital city, Delhi, and would seek two weeks of remand for deep probing. Magunta’s name surfaced while the ED was interrogating Joshi and Nair’s money links that they used during the Goa election which was earned via this scam and the name of Raghav floated up in the investigation. Already a top leader of AAP has been sentenced to Jail for this scam and many political leaders were sent notices.
