Known for making history by reducing ticket prices to core levels in the state of Andhra Pradesh, YSRCP cared for commoners’ money by declaring that entertainment should be available. Not stopping there, it used Cinema as a weapon to make stalwarts like Chiranjeevi come to the CM’s feet in the past. Such a government passed a new GO to increase the ticket prices up to 45 rupees excluding GST for the Sankranthi releases ‘Waltair Veerayya’ and ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ even though it is not on good terms with both the heroes’ political background. Now that the prices have been hiked, both movies have good chances to recover their budgets provided the content is good.
Telangana Government also gave permission to increase the ticket prices way back but here the distributors once tasted mud as they hiked exuberantly. According to the information from the Nizam distributors, they have finalized 295 as the maximum price for normal theaters in Telangana.
