Tollywood diva Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s upcoming mythological starrer Shaakuntalam has locked a date for the release. The makers unveiled the release date along with a new poster from the film.
Sharing the same on her social media handles, Samantha Ruth Prabhu wrote- ‘Witness the #EpicLoveStory #Shaakuntalam in theatres from Feb 17th 2023 Worldwide! Also in 3D.’
According to the latest info, the much-awaited film will grace the theaters on February 17th in 2D and 3D. Directed by the popular Telugu filmmaker Gunasekhar and produced by Neelima Gupta under the banner GunaaTeamworks in association with Sri Venkateswara Creations, Shaakuntalam features Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the titular role while Dev Mohan, Mohan Babu, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Gauthami, Prakash Raj and others in the supporting roles.
Set in the backdrop of 4th century, Shaakuntalam tells the story of the legendary princess Shakuntala and king Dushyanta.
Tollywood music maestro Mani Sharma who is known for his super hit melodies is working on the film’s background and title score. Meanwhile, Sekhar V. Joseph and Prawin Pudi are handling the cinematography and editing works respectively.
Apart from Shaakuntalam, Samantha will also be seen in other high-budgeted ventures including Kushi alongside the Tollywood heartthrob Vijay Devarakonda under Shiva Nirvana’s direction. This south beauty will also be making her Bollywood debut with the upcoming film Aaradhya.
