Anti-Jagan wave within the YSRCP?

Monday, December 23, 2024

The Chief of YSRCP, YS Jaganmohan Reddy has got his first major headache within the party with his own MLAs turning against him openly. Since the elections are less than two years, some woke MLAs who kept silent all the term are now voicing out their opinions, making the cracks within the party

There were leaders who joined YSRCP from other parties like Congress and TDP and they were silent despite their disagreement with the boss Jagan regarding how he was ruling the state. Now they thought it was high time they start speaking or else people would lose all credibility on the individual levels. It started with the MLA Anam Ramanarayana Reddy who opposed the idea of ‘Gadapa Gadapaku’ stating that he has nothing to answer the questions of people regarding development apart from freebies. Then came the Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy who pointed out delayed salaries to the pensioners. Along with these two, the leaders Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad, Rachamallu Siva Prasad Reddy, and Madisetty Venugopal expressed their distress at YSRCP’s ruling.

With growing anti-incumbency, Jagan’s own party’s leaders turning against him is now a big issue to solve. If Jagan fails to take measures, the rebel leaders would leave the party and defect to the opposition TDP, opines a senior observer of AP politics.
