Tollywood star heroes are now the highest-paid artists in India. Pan-India Telugu stars like Prabhas, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and NTR are taking home bigger paychecks than Bollywood heroes. But, top league Bollywood heroines continue to have the upper hand over South actresses in getting hefty remunerations.
Now, reigning Bollywood starlet Jahnavi Kapoor is likely to set a record with her Tollywood debut. According to the latest buzz, Jahnavi demanded a staggering remuneration to sign NTR’s next film with director Koratala Siva. It is a known fact that Jahnavi is the forerunner to play the leading lady’s role in this much anticipated pan-India film. The makers approached Jahnavi long ago. But, she didn’t sign the project till now. Sources revealed that she quoted a huge sum as remuneration to act in this project. If the makers of NTR30 agree to shell out the money quoted by Jahnavi Kapoor, it will be the biggest-ever remuneration for a heroine’s debut in Telugu.
In the past, heroines like Katrina Kaif, Amisha Patel, Bipasha Basu, Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty, Kiara Advani, etc. made their debut in South cinema when they were in top form in Bollywood. They were paid hefty remunerations on par with leading Tollywood heroines in those days. But, Jahnavi’s paycheck for NTR’s film is going to be way bigger than all leading heroines in the South right now.
Aishwarya Rai was paid a solid remuneration for Rajinikanth’s Robot. Similarly, Alia Bhatt also walked with a huge amount for her brief role in RRR. Deepika Padukone is also getting a high salary for Prabhas’ ongoing pan-India film ‘Project K’. Comparatively, Jahnavi Kapoor is a less crazy star than these leading heroines because she hardly acted in ten films. So, the Dhadak actress will set a record for getting huge remuneration while making her debut in the South.
