The most prominent agriculture magazine of the Eenadu group, ‘Annadaata’ has finally completed its 50+ years of publications as its Chief Editor Amirneni Harikrishna in the latest press conference declared that they are stopping the publication.
Annadaata is one of the most famous editorial works from the Eenadu group and it served as the main source of information for the Telugu farmers regarding agriculture and irrigation. The brainchild of Media baron Ramoji Rao used to be out every month and even the ruling governments took contracts to run it as it helped many farmers across the united AP over the last five decades. It is not an exaggeration to declare that Annadaata is the real inspiration behind many agricultural programs in various channels in the present-day media. Post the Jagan’s government, the YSRCP decided to cut down the contract as it has its own agricultural magazine and this pushed Annadaata into severe losses, which forced Ramoji Rao to finally terminate the publication.
Many expressed their sorrow in the sudden announcement of Annadaata editor in chief but some observers state that Annadaata after 50 years of the run has finally given up competing with the leading agricultural magazines and also the fact that the ruling party is against Ramoji Rao also be another reason for the stoppage. Eenadu group however says that they can still get the agricultural info from the Annadaata channel version.
