The recent outing of lady superstar Samantha, Yashoda which was released last weekend is now having a dry run. A quick peek at the updated collections of this flick explains everything.
Samantha has been experiencing a tough phase in her life and career for multiple reasons. Even though it seemed like she was going places with the stupendous craze she got from ‘Family Man-2’ and ‘Oo Antava Mava’ song in Pushpa across India post divorcing Naga Chaitanya, the craze was short-lived. Not just not signing films, the ‘Yemaya Chesave’ fame recently revealed that she is suffering from a health disorder. Amidst such situations, Sam’s Telugu film after a while, Yashoda was released and it got decent reviews. The weekend saw good numbers at the ticket window but the collections dropped hugely from the most crucial Monday.
To add more damage, the sudden demise of Superstar Krishna made many theaters shut down for a day as a sign of respect. All these affected the run of ‘Yashoda’ and now it is inching towards losses in the two Telugu states. To reach break even, the movie needs a miraculous second weekend followed by decent weekday collections, or else it would be concluded as a disaster. The only good thing about this movie is, that movie crossed the half-million dollar mark at the US Box Office by today and reached breakeven and proving Sam’s craze is still intact overseas.
Yashoda is directed by a newcomer duo Hari-Hareesh along with providing a story and screenplay. Mani Sharma scored the music for this suspense thriller which has a star cast like Unni Mukundan, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Rao Ramesh, etc..,
