The sudden raids of Income Tax and Enforcement Departments created havoc among the granite and marble dealers in the state of Telangana including minister Gangula Kamalakar. More details of these sudden raids are as follows.
For the past couple of years, IT and ED are getting tips from multiple sources that the top-notch traders of granite and marble in Telangana state have been violating the FEMA rules and earning more than what they show in tax returns. In this regard, a team of 20 officers from the department have split and formed individual teams to conduct raids simultaneously at a time in important granite trading centers, especially in Karimnagar and Hyderabad. A close observation reveals that the raids happened more on the minister Gangula Kamalakar and he seemed to be their target as his house in Karimnagar along with his Swetha Granites in Mankammathota and SVR Granites in Khammam areas in parallel. The officers of ED have issued many notices already to 8 major granite agencies in this regard and searched everything keenly.
The Minister and his party TRS breathed fire on the BJP explaining that the two departments of ED and IT are acting to the tune of the BJP government in the center and they are intentionally targeting TRS leaders and their businesses to disturb the morale of the pink party. More than TPCC, now TRS is considering BJP as its main opponent in both center and state.
