The “Kartavya Path” will be officially opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 8, 2022. It represents a major shift from Rajpath, which served as a symbol of power in the past, to Kartavya Path, which serves as an illustration of public ownership and empowerment. On this day, the Prime Minister will also formally dedicate the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose statue at India Gate. These actions are consistent with the Prime Minister’s second “Panch Pran” for New India in Amrit Kaal, which calls for eliminating all traces of the colonial mindset.
