In a tragic incident, three people travelling in a car died on Saturdar after their car plunged into a river in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. Following Google Maps proved to be fatal for them as they were guided towards an unfinished flyover leading the vehicle to fall from 50 feet into the river. All three were spot dead due to grave injuries.

The hapless incident occurred on Saturday when the victims,  identified as Nithin, Vivek and Amit, began their journey from Gurugram towards Bareilly to attend a wedding. They set the destination on Google Maps and followed it blindly to reach the venue when their GPS led them to the incomplete flyover, leading to the mishap which claimed their lives.

Locals found the damaged car the next morning and the three men who were dead. They informed the police, who then arrived at the spot and took the bodies for a post-mortem examination. Cell phones and other belongings have been recovered from the spot by the police.

The bridge, located over the Ramganga River, had been under construction for two years. Earlier this year, a wall erected to stop vehicles from entering the incomplete bridge was washed away. However, there were no warning signs or banners to prevent first time travellers to enter the bridge. This led to the incident as per locals.
