The ruling YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh released its poll manifesto ahead of the much anticipated assembly elections which are going to be held on May 13th along with the Loksabha polls. Chief Minister and YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy read out the manifesto during his press interaction at Tadepalli camp office in Amaravati.
In his speech, Jagan likened their manifesto to the holy books like Bhagavad Gita, Bible and Quaran. He claimed that his government implemented 99 percent of its promises made before the 2019 election in the party’s manifesto in the last 58 months. He also stated that the government put in all efforts to implement various welfare and cash transfer schemes in the last five years. He further asserted that he lived upto the promises made before the previous elections like a hero and seeking another term to continue his good governance.
Some of the major highlights in the two page manifesto are as follows. Surprisingly, there are no new schemes in the manifesto and it seems like Jagan has decided to extend the popular ‘Navaratnas’ which he promised in 2019 with additional corpus for each scheme.
1) Increase in Amma Voddi amount from 15,000 to 17,000.
2) Increase in amount under YSR Cheyutha scheme from 75,000 to 1,00,000.
3)YSR Kapu Nestham increased to 1,20,000 and EBC Nestham raised to 5,00,000.
4) Under YSR Aasara, 3 lakh zero interest loan extended for five more years.
5)YSR Vahana Mitra scheme will also be applicable for lorry drivers along with auto rickshaw drivers.
6)10 lakh accidental insurance cover for lorry drivers.
