Telugu Desam Party national president and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, is highly confident of securing a landslide victory in the assembly elections that were held on May 13th across 175 constituencies in the state. He exuded confidence in forming a government with the NDA alliance and predicted that the YSRCP, led by Jagan Mohan Reddy, wouldn’t even get 35 seats in these elections.
The TDP supremo, who embarked on a foreign tour last week to an undisclosed location, landed in Hyderabad on Monday morning and went to his residence in Jubilee Hills after getting a rousing reception from his supporters at the airport. Later, he was greeted by a host of TDP leaders who explained to him about the post-poll surveys and how things panned out in the state in the last week when he was away on tour.
Chandra Babu Naidu cautioned the leaders and party supporters about the likelihood of a law and order problem after the declaration of results and gave a call to be very alert on June 4th. He also asked the Election Commission to deploy additional security in anticipation of violence by YSRCP supporters. He called for strict action against the law breakers and asked the ECI to be prepared for law and order issues on the counting day.
Among those who called on Naidu were Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, Nimmala Rama Naidu, Kollu Ravindra, Kesineni Chinni, Venigondla Ramu, Pithapuram Varma, Payyavula Keshav, and a few others. Janasena president Pawan Kalyan is expected to meet Naidu shortly and discuss various issues that happened in the state after the polling day.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on exit polls which are going to be announced in the evening of June 1st. Many pre-poll and post-poll surveys predicted that the NDA alliance is likely to win a decisive mandate, but the YSRCP cadre is feels that the welfare schemes rolled out in the last five years will ensure absolute majority for Jagan Mohan Reddy.
