YSRCP MLCs walked out from the Legislative Council, alleging that the answers given by ministers in the AP Legislative Council were highly irresponsible. Leader of the Opposition  Botsa Satyanarayana strongly objected towards Endowment Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy’s sarcastic reply to a question related to the security of temples, and they had boycotted the house in protest.

Speaking at the assembly media point on Thursday, he strongly criticized the government’s attitude stating that the government did not give a straightforward answer when they asked questions about the unfortunate incidents that took place in Tirupati and Simhachalam temples. He was angry that they spoke without dignity even on a sensitive issue related to the sentiments of devotees.

He demanded that the minister concerned, who had given a careless reply regarding temples, should resign immediately. He said that this incident has made it clear that the government has no respect for God and devotees. Apart from this, Botsa alleged that the attitude of the ministers is similar in other issues as well.

The former minister said that when asked about the promise of providing pension at the age of 50, they are avoiding the answer. He also accused the government of giving misleading answers to questions asked about the sale of liquor, adulterated liquor and belt shops in the state. He criticized the government for not coming forward to discuss the difficulties faced by farmers for urea.

Botsa Satyanarayana expressed his concern that the discussions held in the council should be beneficial to the people, but that situation is not visible in the current government.

Meanwhile, YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy called on the party MLCs to use the numerical strength of the party in the Legislative Council to confront the government on public issues. He suggested that the council be used as a platform to expose the government’s failures.

A meeting of the Legislature Party was held with the MLCs at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli under the chairmanship of Jagan. On this occasion, he guided the MLCs on the strategies to be followed in the council. He stated that currently, while BJP, Jana Sena and TDP are in the ruling party in the Assembly, YSRCP is the only party in the opposition.
