YSRCP Leader Kodali Nani’s Followers Arrested in Gudivada

Wednesday, December 4, 2024

Over the past five years, YSRCP leaders have been accused of engaging in widespread illegal activities, often shielded by political influence. However, the authorities have now begun to take decisive action against these wrongdoings. In a recent development, the Gudivada One Town police in Krishna district initiated an investigation into the December 2022 attack on Ravi Textiles and arrested nine youth leaders affiliated with YSRCP.

The attack, which occurred on December 25, 2022, saw YSRCP leaders, allegedly armed with petrol bombs, target the textile shop of former TDP MLA Ravi Venkateshwara Rao. This violent act caused significant disturbance in the area. The arrested individuals, including Rapaka Pavan Kumar, Merugumala Uday Kumar, Kondru Srikant, Bhargav, Sunkara Satish, Gonti Ashok, Rajyaboyina Tandav Krishna, Golla Venkateshwara Rao, and Pandeti Moshe, have been moved to the Pedaparupudi police station for further questioning.

Charges have been filed against the accused under multiple sections, including 143, 144, 145, 188, 427, 506, and 149 BNS. Merugumala Kali, a key figure in the YSRCP and a close associate of former MLA Kodali Nani, is currently on the run, with police suspecting that he may have fled the state. Special teams have been deployed to track him down.

With these arrests, it appears that the long-standing culture of impunity for certain YSRCP leaders is beginning to face scrutiny, and legal consequences may follow.
