YSR Congress Party leader Ambati Rambabu expressed confusion and concern over the arrest of party leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi, stating that the reasons behind the arrest remain unclear. Rambabu pointed out that Vamsi was involved in a few cases but had previously secured anticipatory bail in connection with the 2018 attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Gannavaram. Given this, he did not anticipate Vamsi’s arrest.
Speaking during a visit to the DGP office to submit a petition regarding Vamsi’s arrest, Rambabu accused the authorities of executing a conspiracy and illegal detention. He claimed that Vamsi’s arrest was politically motivated, orchestrated by TDP leaders N. Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh, after Vamsi switched from TDP to YSRCP. Rambabu emphasized that the public understands the case as false.
Rambabu also highlighted the difficulties faced by Vamsi’s wife, who was restricted from meeting her husband. Despite securing an appointment to submit the petition, Rambabu stated that no one at the DGP office accepted it. Expressing frustration, he questioned the failure to acknowledge their petition and reiterated the DGP’s responsibility for ensuring law and order. Rambabu further questioned whether anyone would be available to receive their petition or if they would need to return later.
