YSRCP condemns scrapping of pension to disabled, meekly allowing privatization of Visakha Steel

YSRCP has derided the coalition government for scrapping pensions to disabled persons and meekly allowing the privatization of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) while no tangible action was initiated against those leaders facing serious charges.

Opposition leader in Legislative Council Botsa Satyanarayana said it is very sad and heinous to stop pensions to disabled people and we will mobilize public opinion and take them to district collector offices seeking justice if the decision is not reversed.

He deplored that the privatization move of VSP has reached an alarming situation with the shake-up in 32 Departments and Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, Lokesh and others are at a loss for words and are silent as the privatization move is gaining momentum.

He warned that “We will not allow the privatization to happen and will group all political parties and intellectuals who are opposed to the privatization and put up a fight”. He demanded that Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan during his August 30 meeting should give categorical answers and assurance that VSP will not be privatized.

Botsa lamented that Chandrababu Naidu who accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Yogandhra vied for publicity and Guinness Book record but did not speak a single word against the privatization nor did he mention it to the dignitary which shows his stand.

“We will fight it or take the lead or even join any others who take up the issue as it is a matter of emotional bond to this region with 32 persons sacrificing their lives to make the Steel Plant a reality”, he said. He lamented that the rampant corruption and atrocity charges against ministers and MLAs remain unabated and the reaction from the Party and government has been like an eye wash.

The former minister accused that the government is not following any business rules and when charges are levelled against anyone, inquiry is being done by the same cadre which shows the lack of sincerity. He wondered that for allegations against a minister another minister is heading the probe for an official another official of the same rank is holding the probe which shows that it is an eye wash.

He alleged that from ministers to MLAs allegations are coming up unabated with their involvement in corruption, land, sand mafia, land encroachments, atrocities yet, no visible action and they are not flushed out which shows their lack of seriousness.

When asked about support for the Vice President candidate, Botsa  said, the Party’s stand is very clear from the very beginning. “If the ruling party has the required numbers, fielding a candidate is not a wise move. We did not oppose Venkaiah Naidu, Ramnath Kovind and Pranab Mukherjee which makes our stand clear”, he added.
