The founder and leader of the YSR Telangana Party and the sister of Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister YS Jagan, YS Sharmila was arrested on Monday. Going into the details, the 48-year-old leader was reportedly arrested following a clash between her party workers and the Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s supporters in Warangal.
According to the reports, the incident took place in Lingagiri Village in Warangal while the young leader was on a padayatra (foot march).
A fight was raised when a group of TRS workers with raising slogans in the support of the TRS chief KCR allegedly attacked Sharmila’s convoy.
They further attacked the YSRTP supporters and even set her bus on fire. TRS leaders vandalized many YSRTP leaders’ vehicles which resulted in a fight between the two parties.
Later, a police force was rushed to the incident to control the ongoing situation. The police also took Sharmila into custody and shifted her to Hyderabad. Her party workers staged a demonstration and blocked the roads, leading the police to use force to disperse them.
Reacting to this, Sharmila lashed out at the TRS administration and KCR for misusing the power.
