YS Sharmila back after a break, condemns Jagan fiercely

Andhra Pradesh Congress president YS Sharmila is turning out to be a thorn in the flesh for his brother and the incumbent Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy ever since she entered the political scene in the state earlier this year. She has been waging a very strong battle against Jagan and his party by highlighting the inefficiencies in his ruling over the last five years.

Sharmila is not mincing any words while attacking Jagan Mohan Reddy over any issue relating to the state. She is openly targeting his autocratic rule and lashing him out during her public speeches. Owing to his son’s marriage, Sharmila took a short break from political activities last week. Today, she made a comeback in her style by reacting fiercely about an ongoing issue.

It is a known fact Jagan’s supporters have been attacking the journalists of ABN Andhra Jyothi and Eenadu and even started pelting stones at their offices. Recently, a journalist named Krishna was manhandled by YSRCP activists during the public rally Siddham held in Raptadu of Rayalaseema region. Earlier today, Eenadu office in Kurnool was ransacked and stones were pelted by the supporters of YSRCP MLA Rambhupal Reddy.

Sharmila took to X and condemned Jagan Mohan Reddy for encouraging violence on the media houses and stifling their freedom. She wrote a long post in Telugu through which she criticized the government for failing to digest the facts stated by the media. She said these attacks are not just on the media personnel but a direct assault on the democracy.

Not just Sharmila, but all opposition parties have categorically flayed at the blatant atrocities by Jagan’s supporters on the media.
