YS Sharmila Alleges PM Modi’s pressure on CBI To protect Jagan, Avinash Reddy In Viveka’s murder case

Friday, December 5, 2025

APCC President YS Sharmila has made serious allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is pressuring the CBI to protect former CM Jaganmohan Reddy and Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy in the murder case of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy.

Sharmila, who raised the issue of the investigation into Viveka’s murder case, asked the government, “Why aren’t you conducting a fresh investigation? Why aren’t you taking steps in that direction?”

She expressed her grief that despite fighting for justice for many years, there has been no result yet. She clarified that the fight being waged by Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunitha is for comprehensive justice and that she will always stand by her. Sharmila also expressed her dissatisfaction with the performance of the CBI.

“The CBI has now become a puppet in Modi’s hands. If the investigation had really been conducted impartially, the accused would have already been punished,” she said. Sharmila alleged that despite the evidence that could prove that Avinash Reddy was there on the day of his murder — including Google Map locations — the investigation is being weakened to protect him. She also clarified that there is truth in Sunitha’s allegations that the CBI is not functioning properly.

Meanwhile, the APCC chief Sharmila has demanded that the Expression of Interest (EOI) issued to 44 departments as part of the Visakhapatnam Steel privatization be immediately withdrawn. As Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Lokesh are now on a tour of Visakhapatnam, she urged them to visit the steel factory and ensure justice for the victims.

She questioned what has happened to the alliance leaders who said before elections they would sacrifice their lives for the steel plant. She deplored that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has been facing difficulties since the BJP came to power in 2014. She said that 7,500 families who were given lands have not yet been given jobs.

She lamented that as part of Operation Silent Killing, an announcement has been issued for Expression of Interest (EoI) to various departments. She said that if the plant needs ten lakh tonnes of iron ore, only 5 lakhs are being provided.

She deplored  that injustice has been done to Visakhapatnam Steel at Gangavaram Port due to Jagan’s great work. She said that in the past, Hindustan Zinc in Visakhapatnam was handed over to Vedanta Sanstha in a similar manner, and that the company has now fired all the employees and is doing real estate business with the plant lands.
