Losing power is certainly difficult to digest for any leader or a political party. That too for a leader who was confident that there will be no speed beaker for his power for the next 30 years to confine with a mere 11 assembly seats will be a shocking treatment.
Hardly not even two months have passed since the TDP coalition came to power. But one look at the words from former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy demanding president rule in the state certainly makes one believe that he is in deep frustration.
Only after one week of Chandrababu Naidu’s government was sworn in, addressing his party leaders commented that Chandrababu’s sins are ripening like a child. Making such serious comments even before the government settled makes even YCP leaders wonder.
Taking plea of a party worker murder in Vinukonda, he is going to hold a dharna in the national capital New Delhi, demanding President’s rule in the state. This decision is sending shocking sentiments even among YCP leaders. They wonder that by taking up serious accusations at the beginning of a new government, what can the party do during the rest of four years and 10 months?
Moreover, Jagan’s comments at Nellore prison after visiting YCP’s former MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy also embraced his own party colleagues. While Ramakrishna Reddy argued in the court that he did not break EVM at the polling station and a fabricated case was imposed upon him, Jagan openly declared that he had broken the EVM.
Jagan also supported the then sitting MLA breaking an EVM inside the polling booth stating that it was intended to stop rigging. However, breaking an EVM inside the polling station amounts to serious crime and in a way Jagan is helping the police in strengthening the case.
Jagan’s reactions on many issues after losing power has pushed the party leaders into defense. Even his own party leaders are coming to the conclusion that he is in deep frustration. A senior YCP leader felt that the party’s main strength is Jagan, but also at the same time its major weakness is also Jagan. Jagan, who brought the party into power in 2019 with a massive mandate of 151 seats, also led the party into disastrous defeat confining to 11 seats, he added.
