YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Approaches AP High Court Over Security Reduction

Sunday, November 17, 2024
Amaravati:  YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has filed a petition with the Andhra Pradesh High Court, alleging a reduction in his personal security. In the petition, Jagan seeks directives to ensure that his security arrangements, which were in place during his tenure as Chief Minister, are maintained.
Jagan claims that the coalition government has unilaterally decreased his security, suggesting that these actions are aimed at putting his life at risk. He argued that the government should have considered the threats to his safety before making such decisions.
Contradicting Jagan’s allegations, the police department and state government have denied any reduction in his security. Government sources clarified that Jagan’s security detail complies with the prescribed regulations and that he continues to receive Z-plus security. They noted that the additional security provided during his tenure as Chief Minister has been adjusted to standard levels.
Jagan’s lawyers argue that until June 3, he was protected by 900 policemen and now seeks the restoration of the same level of security. They also raised concerns about the condition of the bullet-proof vehicle allotted to him.
