Former Chief Minister and YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s London visit has been postponed as he landed in some trouble with regard to his PassPort. Although the Hyderabad CBI court allowed Jagan’s foreign tour by relaxing the bail conditions given earlier in the illegal assets case, another problem was encountered with the order given by the Vijayawada People’s Representatives Court.
With this, Jagan has now approached the AP High Court. There too the trial was adjourned. With this, Jagan is making hectic efforts for his passport clearance. Earlier, when YS Jagan was the Chief Minister, he was given a diplomatic passport as per the rules.
With the recent change of government in the state, he surrendered this diplomatic passport and got a regular passport. The Hyderabad CBI court allowed him to issue a regular passport for a period of five years. However, the case against Jagan in the People’s Representatives Court in Vijayawada has become a headache.
With this, Jagan filed a petition in the Vijayawada People’s Representatives Court seeking a regular passport for a period of five years. However, the court allowed the regular passport to be taken only for one year.
Challenging this, Jagan approached the AP High Court and filed a lunch motion petition in the High Court on Friday seeking orders for issuing of a passport for five years. However, the High Court adjourned the hearing to Monday. As a result, it seems that Jaganmohan Reddy was forced to postpone his trip to London.
Jagan’s journey to London is likely to depend on the decision taken by the High Court. The court heard the petition and issued orders imposing conditions. The counsel for the petitioner told the High Court that although the CBI court had given permission to the petitioner to go on a London tour, the court of public representatives had imposed several conditions.
Jagan’s lawyer argued in the court that it is not right to do this. Petitioner’s counsel asked for directions to issue NOC. The court adjourned the further hearing to Monday. YS Jagan is scheduled to go to London from 3rd to 25th of this month.
