YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy convened a special meeting with Kadapa municipal corporators at Idupulapaya on Wednesday. During the session, Jagan addressed the issue of recent defections and urged members to rely on their wisdom in such matters. He questioned the rationale behind joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), asking what the coalition government had achieved to warrant such moves.
Reassuring his commitment, Jagan promised unwavering support for the corporators and advised them to bring any issues to Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy’s attention. Reflecting on his past, Jagan shared, “I endured 16 months in jail, and my wife faced immense challenges during that period to secure my bail. The pain I suffered is incomparable.”
He emphasized that there was no need for party members to defect, asserting, “If I become Chief Minister again, it will be as if a family member from your own household holds the position.” Jagan expressed optimism about the future, assuring the corporators of better days ahead.
Following the meeting, Jagan engaged in one-on-one discussions with the corporators to address their specific concerns, reiterating his commitment to the party’s strength and unity.
