Hyderabad: Prominent YouTuber Anvesh has drawn attention to a betting app named ‘Govinda’, which has been promoted by film stars under the name of Lord Venkateswara. Anvesh stated that the app has been in operation for several years and continues to function. In a tweet accompanied by video clips related to the app, he appealed to Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Nara Lokesh to take action to safeguard young people from such betting platforms.
Responding to Anvesh’s tweet, Minister Nara Lokesh expressed concern over the damaging effects of betting apps on individuals’ lives. He revealed that young people addicted to gambling apps are ruining their futures, with numerous reports of such cases. Lokesh called for decisive measures to end this trend and underscored the importance of continuous awareness campaigns and strict actions as long-term solutions.
Lokesh also stated that efforts are underway to implement a comprehensive anti-betting app policy, which would serve as an example for the entire nation. He assured that all legal measures are being explored to eliminate these betting apps and their harmful impact.
