Former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s 25-days foreign tour at a time the party is locked up in a deep crisis is causing surprise even to YCP leaders. He is leaving for London on September 3 on the occasion of his daughter’s birthday, for which he got permission from the CBI Special Court.
At a time when party MPs and leaders are saying goodbye, YCP president and former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is leaving for London on the 3rd of next month. A special CBI court recently allowed him to visit the place for 25 days for his daughter’s birthday celebrations.
On the one hand, a large number of YCP leaders, including Rajya Sabha members, MLCs, Municipal Corporators and others are leaving the party. Moreover, the state government agencies like ACB and Vigilance & Enforcement are probing into various irregularities and corrupt practices related to Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime.
Several YCP leaders, who allegedly resorted to violent attacks against their political opponents are now under the threat of facing criminal cases. Several IPS officials known for their proximity with Jaganmohan Reddy are now under the threat of facing criminal cases.
At this moment his foreign trip is putting YCP leadership in trouble. At this period of crisis, party leaders were unable to cope up with Jaganmohan Reddy’s indifferent attitude. After shifting the YCP central office into Tadepalli palace, several leaders felt they were losing access with the leadership.
Moreover, after his disastrous defeat in the polls Jaganmohan Reddy is mostly confined to his Bangalore’s Yelahanka palace and even senior leaders are unable to contact him. His dharna in New Delhi within few days of losing power demanding President’s rule in the state was felt by many in the party as an preemptive step.
Jaganmohan Reddy alleged in New Delhi that as many as 36 YCP activists were killed within two months of TDP-led government rule. But when TDP leaders challenged them to give names to them, YCP leadership was unable to give a response.
