YCP leader Kukkala Vidyasagar, the key accused in the false case registered against Mumbai actress Kadambari Jatwani, was detained by the police on Friday. Vijayawada Commissioner of Police PC Rajasekhar Babu confirmed that he was detained in Dehradun and was produced in the Dehradun court.

Though he has been absconding from the police for the last many days and using his friend’s phone to avoid being caught by the police, the police identified his movements using technology. The police expect his interrogation will help them with full details related to the case.

He contested as YCP candidate in recent assembly elections and it is believed that police used him to file a false complaint against the actress. He has been sexually harassing her for the last few years and took him to Mumbai to locate her residence and movements.

CP Rajasekharababu said that Vidyasagar has been detained by the police and is being brought to Vijayawada. Police started searching for him after the  Mumbai actress recently formally filed a complaint with the Ibrahimpatnam police.

A case was registered against Vidyasagar on her complaint. In this, IPS officers PSR Anjaneyu, Kanti Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni played a key role. The three were suspended by the AP government. After investigating the complaint, the police have included YCP leader Kukkala Vidyasagar as A1.

The police found that Vidyasagar had gone into hiding for the last few days and was in touch with friends and lawyers. Special teams have been formed to arrest him. Vijayawada CP Rajasekhar Babu said that the location of the accused was identified through cell phone signals and Google Take Out.  They searched for him in Gujarat, Hyderabad, Delhi and many other areas.

Meanwhile, IPS officer Kanti Rana filed a petition in the AP High Court seeking anticipatory bail in the Mumbai actress case. The High Court will hear Kanti Rana’s petition on Monday. DGP has already suspended ACP Hanumantha Rao and Ibrahimpatnam CI Satyanarayana in connection with this matter.
