While the Election Commission of India (ECI) was furious towards post-poll violence in Andhra Pradesh, allegedly under the shadow of ruling YCP `proxy’ police officials, the YCP started blaming ECI and its extreme steps of shifting DGP and other senior officers, who were known their loyalty to the ruling party.
Both state government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and minister Ambati Rambabu accused the ECI stating that post-poll violence reported only in places where police officers were shifted during election period.
Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is silent till now on these violent incidents. Atleast, he did not conduct a review with senior officials on law and order situation or even directed senior officers to take stern action.
Sensing that shifting of key police officers and acting against erred SPs had spoiled their conspiracies for a large scale rigging creating terror among voters of other parties, YCP leaders are now alleging that the ECI acted in a partisan manner.
Ramakrishna Reddy surprisingly without blaming police authorities of the state government, said that the ECI should take responsibility for the post-poll chaos in the state.
The YCP seems to be developing more grudges against AP State BJP chief D Purandeswari, who had complained to ECI against police officers, who were notorious with their proximity with the ruling party. Reddy accused that all those officials against whom the complaint was lodged by Purandeswari were transferred and claimed that the officers deployed on polling duty were of the TDP’s choice.
Pointing his finger of suspicion against ECI officers themselves, Reddy also alleged that Special Police Observer for General Election Deepak Mishra had attended a dinner hosted by a retired police officer named Vishnuvardhana Rao, who is a close associate of BJP candidate Sujana Chowdary, contesting from the Vijayawada (West) assembly constituency.
Sajjala claimed that an elaborate plan to derail the YSRCP in elections made by the TDP was implemented by the ECI through Deepak Mishra.
