Senior TDP leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, who has been associated with the party since its inception and served as a minister, is currently a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council. With his tenure set to conclude by the end of this month, Yanamala stated that he would accept a Rajya Sabha nomination if the party offers him the opportunity, failing which he plans to retire from active politics.
Speaking to media representatives in the Assembly lobbies, Yanamala revealed that Chief Minister Chandrababu had personally informed him about the selection of candidates for the MLC seats under the MLA quota, which he welcomed. He also expressed his gratitude to Chandrababu for providing him with the opportunity to serve as an MLC on two occasions.
Commenting on the current political scenario, Yanamala observed that politics have become increasingly expensive, which he believes is unfavorable for democracy.
