Even before the furore over Minister Ponnam Prabhakar’s inappropriate comments on Minister Adluri Laxman had subsided, differences between ministers in another district had flared up. Two women ministers of the same district are fuming with anger over the domineering attitude of the district in-charge minister. They are reportdly all set to complain to the Congress high command.
The dominance exercised by the combined Warangal district in-charge minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy over two women ministers from the same district has recently reached its peak. The work being done in Medaram has become the focal point for this. Both the women ministers are fuming over Minister Ponguleti’s one-sided tendencies regarding the work being done in the backdrop of the Medaram Mahajatara to be held from January 28 to 31 next year.
There are already allegations that Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is exercising his dominance by not allowing any of them to meet in the combined Warangal district. Minister Konda Surekha and her husband, former MLC Konda Muralidhar Rao, have already complained to the Congress high command about Ponguleti’s dominance.
The government has called for tenders worth Rs 71 crore for the renovation of the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Gaddelas. There is talk that the tender process was completed without even the slightest information from Minister Konda Surekha, who represents the Endowment Department, local MLA, tribal child, and state Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka.
Moreover, on the 23rd of last month, CM Revanth Reddy, Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Seethakka, Surekha, Adluri Laxman and others visited Medaram. At that time, the CM said that Ponguleti, who was the joint district in-charge minister, should review the work to be undertaken in Medaram at least once a week. At that time, two women ministers from the district, Seethakka and Surekha, were shocked.
In addition to this, allegations were made that the relevant minister, Konda Surekha, was insulted in the same meeting without even being given a chance to speak. Recently, allegations have been made that he is awarding works to his relatives and people from his district under the guise of tenders for Medaram works. To support those allegations, it is being said that two of the three companies that came to tender for the works are close to Minister Ponguleti, and one is from someone else, so that the ministers were distanced.
What is the role of Minister Ponguleti in the endowment department, which is represented by the BC community and the woman minister Konda Surekha?, many people, including her, are expressing objections. It seems that she is angry that tenders were called in her ministry without her knowledge and is planning to complain to the higher-ups in this matter.
