After widespread violent incidents that continued for two days after polling in Tadipatri that knocked the attention of Election Commission of India (ECI) officials in New Delhi, is mainly attributed to YCP’s loyal DSP VNK Chaitanya, who suddenly took charge to control YCP-sponsored violent attacks and clashes in the faction-bound city.
District SP and other police officials are now wondering who really posted him in Tadipatri? Chaitanya, who is currently serving as Rajampet DSP, previously served as Tadipatri DSP for about two and half years. He was known for his naked submission to the local YCP MLA Ketireddy Peddareddy and MLAs directions are only law to him. During his regime there several TDP leaders and activists were targeted for physical attacks and false cases.
On Tuesday, TDP leader and former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy fell ill and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad after the police used tear gas. Taking this into account, DSP Chaitanya along with his team broke into JC’s residence in Tadipatri on Tuesday midnight.
The CCTV cameras were destroyed and the TDP workers were beaten indiscriminately with sticks. Police beaten a dalith disabled worker Kiran Kumar, working in their house, severely. About 35 people were detained and shifted somewhere.
Anantapur SP Amit Bardar is said to be shocked towards Chaitanya’s brutal raid and reprimanded him. He deplored that while he was brought here to restore law and order, he himself ignited lawlessness and instigated violence.
He wondered and asked him why he had attacked workers and computer operators at JC’s house. SP ordered Chaitanya immediately to leave Tadipatri and go back to Rajampet. Ironically, Anantapur SP Amit Bardar does not know who actually called Chaitanya to Tadipatri.
What could be a worse failure? If Chaitanya leaves Rajampet and goes to Tadipatri, does the SP of Anantapur and Annamaiya districts and the DIG of Anantapur range know? Doesn’t at least the DGP and the Additional DG of Law and Order know?
Now police circles are wondering how Chaitanya was given law and order assignment in Tadipatri without the knowledge of the SP? TDP leaders are demanding a thorough probe into it.
They want to know whether without any order he himself took charge here? Or YCP MLA summoned him into service? Or any higher officer assigned him the task on behalf of YCP MLA? These questions are now going viral. Now demands are surfacing for his suspension and also action against those who posted him here.
