Mani Ratnam’s epic historical sequel Ponniyin Selvan-2 has finally released in theaters earlier today. The ensemble lead cast including Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayam Ravi and others has once again made their entry to entertain the audience with the grand finale of this much-anticipated project.
Released with high expectations, PS-2 is already performing well and storming the box offices with good numbers. As we know that PS-1 was also received by the audience and even minted more than Rs. 500 crores worldwide and emerged as a sensation at the box office.
The streaming rights of the first installment have also been bagged by Amazon Prime for a whopping amount of Rs. 125 crores. Now as per the latest sources, Amazon Prime has also secured rights to the second installment just like the first one. With the ongoing craze for the PS-2, the movie might not be able to stream on the OTT platform until about five weeks after its theatrical release and will most likely to stream by the second or third week of June. However, no official announcement has been made by the team unit.
Meanwhile, love has been pouring in for PS-2 ever since its release today. Directed by Mani Ratnam and jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, the film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.
