The Union Budget of 2023-24 has made headlines today, especially the income tax slab modifications and other things aimed at the middle class of India. However, the Centre also concentrated on the two Telugu states better than the last year.
Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman introduced the budget today and it seems the BJP Government is betting big on the two Telugu states as it did release a couple of thousands of crores for AP and Telangana. The Center allocated a combined amount of 37 crores for developing the Tribal Universities in both states. Additional 47 crores for the AP Central University, and 168 crores for the Petroleum University for Andhra Pradesh. BJP did showcase some softness finally on the Vizag Steel Plant as it allocated 683 crores for it in AP and balanced Telangana by sanctioning 1650 crores for the Singareni.
Not stopping there, the BJP Government is all set to release funds for the construction of 22 AIIMS hospitals across India and two of them are in Mangalagiri of AP and Bibinagar in Telangana. To deal with the KCR, the Saffron party showcased a special interest in the Telangana museums as it sanctioned 357 crores in total along with 1473 crores to develop the factories of Kota Bharjala and Manuguru.
However, the BJP failed to sanction what was promised during the AP Bifurcation including the most teased Vizag Special Railway Zone leaving the AP people disappointed yet again.
