In a surprising development, former Telangana Chief Minister and Bharatiya Rastra Samithi party president Kalvakuntla Chandra Sekhar Rao, who is popularly called as KCR, made his social media debut this Saturday ahead of the Loksabha elections. On the eve of the 23rd formation day of BRS party, which was floated in 2001 as TRS, KCR joined ‘X'( Twitter) and wished his supporters and the people of Telangana a happy anniversary.
Unlike other politicians of his age, who interact with the masses and the rank and file of their parties through various platforms like Facebook, X and Instagram, KCR kept himself away from social media behemoths all these years. When he was in power , KCR was not easily accessible for his supporters. But, he seems have realised the importance of communication with the public and his supporters after the recent political developments in Telangana. It is a known fact that his party is facing an existential crisis after facing a humiliating electoral defeat against the hands of Congress in December last year. This seems to have brought change in KCR.
Immediately after making his debut on X, KCR gained thousands of followers in no time. He posted a couple of tweets which clearly hint that he will not only stay connected with his followers but also highlight the ruling government’s inefficiencies.
In one post, KCR expressed his gratitude towards BRS leaders and supporters for making his first road show( Bus Yatra) a huge success. In the next post, the BRS supremo flayed at the Congress party for continuous power outages across the state ever since it came to power. He said that all constituencies in Telangana are facing a similar situation and the government has failed to address the issues.
The handle name of KCR is @KCRBRSPresident. He is following the official handle of BRS party.
