Visakhapatnam is gearing up for the International Yoga Day. The state government has launched YogaAndhra-2025 to make it a historic event. As part of this, necessary arrangements are being made to ensure that a record 5 lakh people perform yoga asanas at one place. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the 11th International Yoga Day on Saturday.
In this context, the main stage has been prepared at RK Beach where the Prime Minister will participate in the yoga asana program with 15,000 people, in the presence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Similarly, everything is being prepared in the 26-kilometer stretch from RK Beach to Bheemili, including electric lights, LED screens, barricades, mats on the road, and platforms for trainers.
In case of rain, an alternative venue is being prepared at Andhra University to continue the program. Information with QR codes has been made available to avoid confusion among the people. Arrangements have been made for those who have not registered in advance to participate in YogaAndhra to register on the spot.
Everyone will be given a yoga mat along with a kit, water bottle and raincoat. Special parking spaces have been set up everywhere to avoid any traffic problems. An ambulance will be made available for every kilometer. The district administration has made arrangements to have an instructor, two policemen, medical staff and an assistant in each compartment.
To this end, seven IAS officers have been assigned the responsibility of 326 compartments. NCC and NSS volunteers have been trained on the services. A total of 6300 volunteers will be used for this program. On the other hand, the government has made tight security arrangements as VIPs including the Prime Minister are coming.
A security arrangement has been made with 10,000 policemen. A command control room has been set up and CCTV cameras are being installed throughout the city and every moment is being monitored. Special surveillance has also been done with drones.
The officials have focused on planning so that those coming from outside do not get stuck in traffic. Our correspondent Krishna interviews Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, who says that arrangements have been made to ensure that Yoga Andhra continues even in adverse circumstances.
