Vijayawada ACB Court Extended Remand To All 12 Accused In Liquor Scam

Monday, December 8, 2025

The Vijayawada ACB court has extended the remand of the accused in the liquor scam case during the YSRCP regime. It has been said that the remand will be imposed till the 13th of this month. So far, 12 accused have been arrested in this case.

Earlier, as the remand of the accused ended today, the SIT officials took nine people from the Vijayawada district jail to the court to be produced in the court.  Dhanunjaya Reddy, Krishnamohan Reddy, Raj Kasireddy, Paila Dilip, Venkatesh Naidu, Buneti Chanakya, Balaji Govindappa, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, and Sajjala Sridhar Reddy are the accused.

The officials took nine accused from the Vijayawada district jail, two from the Guntur district jail, and Rajampet MP Mithun Reddy from the Rajahmundry jail to be produced in the court.  Meanwhile, the SIT has concluded that the accused in this case used to meet with the members of the bribe-collecting gang from time to time.

Mithun Reddy, Vijayasai Reddy, Govindappa Balaji, former CMO Secretary K. Dhanunjaya Reddy, and OSD P. Krishnamohan Reddy were among Jagan’s close associates.  The SIT has confirmed with technical and scientific evidence that all of them used to meet frequently. It has determined on which dates, who and where they met, along with the latitude and longitude. These details have been included in the primary charge sheet.

The SIT has revealed in the charge sheet that Raj K.C. Reddy and his followers used to collect Rs 50 to 60 crore every month from liquor distilleries and supply companies and hand them over to MPs Mithun Reddy, Vijayasai Reddy, and Govindappa Balaji, who used to pass this money on to the then CM Jaganmohan Reddy.

It is clear that Mithun Reddy, Govindappa Balaji and Vijayasai Reddy used to meet Raj Kasireddy and members of the extortion network he runs. Meanwhile, the AP SIT officials who recently conducted lightning raids in Shamshabad, Telangana state, seized a large amount of cash.

Based on the information given by Varun Purushottam, who is accused of A40 in the case, Rs 11 crore stored in 12 boxes was seized. The searches were conducted at Sulochana Farms Guest House in Kacharam village, Shamshabad mandal, Rangareddy district. This guest house in Kacharam village, opposite Vardhaman College, is named after Teegala Bala Reddy.

A team of SIT officers has identified that Varun Purushottam, with the help of a person named Vinay, brought 12 boxes containing Rs 11 crore in cash here in the name of office files in June 2024, on the orders of Raj KC Reddy and Chanakya. The ED and IT are likely to focus on the seized cash.
