A brief discussion on the issue of Super Six promises in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council has turned into heated political debate and several ministers raising in anger when YSRCP member Ramesh Yadav addressed Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu as `Kuppam MLA’. Finally, the Council Chairman announced removal of such words from records.
Ministers objected when Ramesh Yadav made serious allegations that the coalition government failed to fully implement the Super Six promises. Minister Payyavula Keshav said, “YSRCP members are criticizing the coalition government with a burning stomach. We have started filling up teacher posts by undertaking Mega DSC. The Chief Minister will personally hand over the appointment documents today.”
Similarly, Minister Kollu Ravindra said, “How many DSCs has Jagan conducted in five years? We are providing teacher jobs to 16,400 people through a single DSC. Moreover, it is the credit of our government to provide the benefit of Amma Vodi scheme to every eligible student.”
Minister Atchannaidu also said, “We have implemented the Super Six promises within 15 months. It is not right to make allegations while ignoring the work being done in front of our eyes.”
Moreover, Minister Kollu Ravindra reacted sharply against addressing Chandrababu as `Kuppam MLA’ and said, “It is disrespectful to address a person who is the CM as just a Kuppam MLA. Action should be taken against the YSRCP member after examining the records. He should apologize.”
Minister Nadendla Manohar also said, “The CM is the leader of the House. How can a YSRCP member forget that? The records should be examined immediately and appropriate action should be taken.” Amid these developments, the Council Chairman adjourned the House for a while.
Speaking in the session that began later, he said, “The developments that have taken place are against the traditions of the assembly. We have examined the records. It has been found that the comments made by Ramesh Yadav are objectionable. Therefore, we are removing those comments from the records. Members should behave in the House of Elders,” he clarified.
Overall, the discussion in the council on the Super Six promises went to allegations, counters, slogans, and deletions of comments. While the ministers said with figures that the coalition government was implementing the promises, the YSRCP members reacted strongly by making allegations.
The entire council expressed deep anger over the ‘Kuppam MLA’ comments made by the YSRCP member towards the Chief Minister, and finally those comments were removed from the records.
