Undavalli Arun Kumar has showered accolades on Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, terming him a “Ray of Hope” for the political environment of the state. He pointed out Pawan Kalyan’s different style of politics that made him different from other leaders. Unlike most politicians who go out of their way to speak in a mannered way, Pawan Kalyan’s frank and bold approach has earned him widespread public respect, Undavalli noted.
One of the significant instances he cited was Pawan Kalyan’s adamant response to the Tirupati stampede tragedy. The leader’s demand for an apology to the victimized devotees not only brought comfort to the victims but also earned him universal admiration by all sections of society.
Aiding Andhra Pradesh’s Pending Dues – A Golden Chance
Undavalli emphasized that the time is ideal to call for the long-pending bifurcation commitments and financial arrears due to Andhra Pradesh. With the TDP-Jana Sena combine holding key positions in the central government, he feels that they are in a position to bargain for these long-pending commitments. Pawan Kalyan’s increasing stature places him well to bargain for the state’s legitimate benefits.
Refuting criticism of Pawan Kalyan’s religious activities, including his Sanatana Dharma Deeksha and visits to temples, Undavalli brushed aside such criticism as unwarranted. He claimed that Pawan Kalyan is not bothered by critics and keeps going on his own path. He also pointed out to critics that even prior to the elections, certain Kapu leaders had expressed concerns about Pawan Kalyan’s strategy, but he did not waver from his beliefs.
Undavalli also elucidated that TDP-Jana Sena combination’s alliance with BJP is strategic. He exhorted Pawan Kalyan to use the political equation towards insisting on long-overdue requirements of Andhra Pradesh. Referring to political machinations by Chandrababu Naidu, which mostly follow an impenetrable trail, Undavalli assured confidence that a step taken to be in accord with the well-being of the state would be realized eventually. Undavalli also pointed out that the public firmly believes that Pawan Kalyan can settle bifurcation problems if he acts decisively. Moreover, he disclosed that he has sent a letter to Pawan Kalyan, delineating his suggestions for attaining these objectives in a proper manner.
Undavalli Clears the Air on Political Comeback
In reply to a query about returning to active politics, Undavalli Arun Kumar squarely dismissed it. He replied that he was satisfied with what he is doing at present and as a political observer and doesn’t see the necessity to turn active in politics once again. Nonetheless, he guaranteed that he would continue offering his comments on matters of essence pertaining to the state and people.
Reacting to former minister Sake Shailajanath’s political switch to YSRCP, Undavalli asserted that political defection is a matter of choice. According to him, it is not necessary to make pointed remarks against individuals for allying with other parties, as every leader exercises his or her political judgment based on principles and self-interest.
